S. T. Holland (CRESST/GSFC/USRA) and H. Krimm (CRESST/USRA/GSFC)
report on the behalf of the Swift UVOT team:
The Swift/UVOT observed the field of the anomalous X-ray pulsar
1E 1547.0-5408 starting 63 s after the first BAT trigger (Krimm et
al. 2008, GCN Circ. 8311). We do not find any new source, relative to
the DSS, at the location of the XRT source. The 3-sigma upper limits
for detecting a source are:
Filter T_start T_stop Exp(s) Mag
------------------------------------------------
v 188 588 373 >19.8
v 188 6183 982 >20.4
b 668 7003 412 >20.7
u 643 6798 432 >20.3
uvw1 619 6593 252 >20.2
uvm2 594 6388 255 >20.0
uvw2 699 7222 243 >20.2
white 82 182 98 >20.7
white 82 7208 609 >21.7
------------------------------------------------
The quoted upper limits have not been corrected for the expected, and
highly uncertain, Galactic extinction along the line of sight
corresponding to a reddening of E_{B-V} = 16.7 mag (Schlegel, et al.,
1998, ApJS, 500, 525). All photometry is on the UVOT flight system
described in Poole et al. (2008, MNRAS, 383, 627).
