Benetti  (INAF-Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova)\nand behalf of the CIBO collaboration report:\n\nThe preliminary reduction of a spectrum\nof SN 2008D (Transient in NGC 2770) taken with TNG+LRS\n(range 350 - 780 nm) on Jan 11.1 resembles\nthat of the energetic type Ic SN 2006aj 3 days after explosion (Pian et\nal, 2006, Nature 442 1011). The SiII-635.5nm  feature shows  an  higher\nexpansion velocity  than in  SN  2006aj.  The  bluer  bumbs seen  in SN\n2006aj spectrum, centered at  about 440  and 500  nm, are not  yet well\ndeveloped, also\nsuggesting an higher expansion velocity.",
